Radicalization requires economic collapse and widespread violence. For example, Afghanistan was a very nice, moderate Islamic country before the Soviet Union invaded, which lead directly to the formation of Al-Queda and the overwhelming majority of terrorist groups in the area. This is also why Stalinism has never caught on in a prosperous country. JFK pointed that out back in the 50s. Thats also why neo-nazis have existed in America since the 1940s, but have never had even the smallest influence on the public.
Also, local neo-nasis have been calling for a resurgence of the Holocaust for 60 years, and they havent even killed one person yet! In all honesty, Hizb Ut Tahrir sounds less extreme than American neo-nazis, and have even less chance of doing anything.

Radicalization doesn't require anything. Tell a lie enough times and it will become the truth. Same holds true here for a minority of people. But, regarding Afghanistan, I doubt they were liberal in the beliefs prior to the Soviet invasion.
Neo-nazis have killed people since the second world war. We should follow Germany's example -- banning Nazi groups -- and apply it to Islamist groups AND Nazis. Both ideologies are dangerous, and when you turn the other ear, you are EXACTLY the same as them. As Edmund Burke said - "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing"
