dont go back to school untill january. gotta love having the college screw with your courses

I don't go back until September 9th, and even then its only to move into residence. Classes won't start until the week after.

First year university scares me. :(

don't worry. you'll spend most of the year drunk ;)

it'll be the best year of your life (or it usually is for most people [yay freedom!]) :)

Well thats encouraging. :D

I don't about your situation exactly, but generally universities don't actually count your firt year towards your final grades, because they know you are just going to mess about. The first year is normally to weed out the really bad students and to level everyone off because they all start at different points in their education...

Oh, and I go back to college on the 6th (Yes collage, not the same one I was at for two years but a different one. I'm doing and art foundation course. Then I'm having a year out...rar :) and then onto Uni :D)

mmm...liquid coolage...

edit: isn't the 'edit' button the best? :P

You know, that's right. I spent most of my first year drunk. There wasn't anything else to do except drink.

I seriously believe I spent at least £1500 last year on Booze.

Ya from what I hear they try to weed out the good students here as well. But they do it differently, they make first year extremelly difficult and the marks really important to make sure you have to concentrate. At least thats what I have heard so far. I won't have much of a problem keeping focused on school work and out of parties (most of them) but its still going to be really damn tough year.

2nd, 3rd and 4th years gets progessively harder ...heh you should take a fine arts course ..it was a breeze, except all those dull art history lectures (perfect time to catch up on sleep) If I ever see one more slide of a freakin Minoan vase shard I'm going to renouce western society, shave my head and become a follower of Hare Krishna (they have cool ...sandals)

Harder? heh, the next four years are going to be intersting for me.

I'm planning to major in Computer Science, I know there are way too many Computer Scientists out there and demand is low but programming is really the only thing I can see myself doing 10 years from now. I like history and some social sciences though so at least I will probably enjoy my bird courses.

ever thought about going into Internet related courses (Internet Engineering?), or even AI? in my final year, i can choose from a number of projects to work on. right now i've pencilled in AI, because frankly it's the most interesting, and there are very few people with a good Comp Sci degree that's focused on AI. might be something to think about.

never enough good programmers. BTW where are you going to school?

I think I might double major in Computer Science and Psychology. I wonder if USF allows triple majors...

Never heard of Internet Engineering. AI is certainly a consideration but I don't really have to decide yet since in first year there aren't any real options.

Western, I would have preferred Waterloo but achieving a 90% average in some of the new grade 12 math courses is not exactly an easy task. :p

hmmm I thought most people in computer science would opt to go to U of T ...but Western is a good school

I've got family in London, plus i'm kind of a country side boy and Toronto seems far too crowded for me.

School starts tomorrow for me. My curriculum this first period sucks, 6 courses a week, each course is 6h per week, + i'm taking this computer course which adds 2 hours per week, so in total 38h school per week :(

daym id be mad if school started right now..
meh goo canadaaa

University next year is going to be so amazing, going to study geography. :D

it'll save you on housing that's for sure ...ah toronto isnt all that bad ..lived here all my life ..not all that crowded ...besides at least 50% of the population is female ..that's potentially 1.5 million women ...just think of the possibilities :naughty:

suckas!!!! no school for me!!!

damn I wish I was still in school, work sucks

Whoever you heard that from... they were laughing on the inside...

Ya I live in York Region and go into Toronto every once in awhile but the idea of jumping from living in a forested area with basically no neighbors you can talk to and then suddenly jumping into Toronto would probably freak me out... Although 1.5 million women over 150 000 women could make up for it... :P

I'll be looking foward to it.
Grade 9 isn't so bad, after the first couple of months you get used to all of the changes that are associated with high school and there really isn't much of an increase in school work from grade 8 to grade 9.
