in advance sry for my bad english but i need a reponse to a question:

hl 2 collector ed. , when the moment come, will allow me to download Dod:s or i must buy silver vs or gold?

I don't think it's been said yet. Hoepully the people that paid that much for the game won't be left out simply because it wasn't ready to physically shift.

i'm interesting only in dod:s.....i have seen these vs of hal life 2 with hl2; cs:s, hal:s and a t-shirt then i think it was silver or gold vs....i hope only that it allow me to dowload dod:s when it come out

You dont get DOD:S if you buy hl2 from store. Only DOD:S if you buy silver or gold

It is still unknow. Valve is giving out free to Silver and Gold buyers on Steam as they dont have to pay Vivendi any money with sales over Steam, so they can offer DoD:S free. Everyone who has bought the collectors edition feels they should get it free also, but life is often a female dog..and we in Oz did not even get the collex\ctors edition in a shiny tin here

Activition has paid Valve so they can publish DOD material (I think it was this past Spring?). That is why I think you don't get DOD:S with the Collectors Edition, which is published by Vivendi.

Now Valve has only packaged DoD with the other Steam packages (Silver/Gold) and I don't think they will give it away free if you bought the Collectors Edition. It most likely will be offered as a separate game, just like they said CSS will be sometime.

Otherwise, I don't know.

I've said it many times before and I'll say it many times in the future: The retail Half-Life2 Collector's Edition is the biggest rip-off in gaming history. An entire group of marketing geniuses at Vivendi and Valve obviously put alot of effort into thinking how they could screw the customer as deeply as possible with this package.

Compare this CE to the recent WoW collector's edition, or for god's sake even the Chronicles of Riddick, which includes all sorts of extra material for 1/3 the price.

I'm still steaming mad over my collector's edition purchase.
