HL:2 Freeze @ Sandtraps

hey, i seem to be having soem trouble with HL2.
Im at the middle part of the sandtraps, were u exit via the lighthouse (exit thru cliff , into tunnel) im at the loading screen and it wont seem to move, as if its frozen. i closed hl2, and then re opened, and the same thing, frozen at loading screen(ctrl+alt+del - and it says its not responding) :S i dunno what to do, what could be the problem?? any help would be appreciated

open the console and type

map d3_coast_#

replacing the # with the best guesstimate of where you are for example

d2_coast_01
d2_coast_02
d2_coast_03
d2_coast_04
d2_coast_04
d2_coast_05
d2_coast_06
d2_coast_07
d2_coast_08

If problems persist then validate your files by going into the game properties in the steam game menu
