HL-2 vs CS:Source

I observed Half-Life 2 and Counter-Strike: Source.... on steam...there seem to have more pple playing Counterstrike:Source online (More servers) than HL-2. Isn't HL-2 a new game suppose to be more HOT than Counterstrike: Source or did i misunderstand something?

Yeah, you REALLY missunderstood allot.

CS: S and HL-2 were both released at the same time. Unless you meant HL2: DM, then that's still only maybe a month difference.

Besides, there are far more 12- year olds in the world than adults, and we all know that 12- year olds mainly play CS.

And yeah... HL2 deathmatch just isn't for everyone. It's very fast paced and some people enjoyed playing through HL2 nice and slow, to really observe and play with things. HL2 deathmath is also slightly more laggy than CS:S and has more glitches from what I've noticed...

Everyone just seems to like CS no matter what, whether it be 1.6 or Source, or both...

Just people's preference for typical online play...

I like them both, and actually, probably, play HL2 Deathmatch more, but I really don't play either that often...

DM wins hands down. It's just an overall better game if you ask me (gameplay wise).

I was in a server that was filled with excellent teammates (team DM) and we set up base at the top floor of DM_Overwatch. The guy was REALLY good at blocking off the exit, and taught me how to grav jump for when I needed to get up. And If you just ran up and went "hey, can you guys toss me down a few med packs and an RL", one guy would watch your back while the other filled you two up.

God that was so much fun!
