HL:S Won't Start

You know how HL2 loads up a menu screen well the same menu screen on HL:S is freezeing up it would just say loading and thats it it is pissing me off that I can't play this :flame: Is there a way around it or how did some of you guys play it.

Same for me. turned off loading background level so the menu would load but I can't get into actual game
