HL1 Ending

Hi everyone!I'm new to these forums.I have to say,this site totally rocks.

Anyway,I never finished Half-life 1.My bro almost finished it.

What I'd like to know is the complete HL1 story with the ending.How did the aliens get to earth?What happens at the end?

I'd love to finish the game,but there's no way I can finish it before HL2 comes out :dozey:
 
It's a rather sort game, you can do it

It's do -able with a few of hours each night on a weekend if you don't suck
 
WOW you want to know the complete STORY.. well i completed it last month man! (((for like the 5th time)))

how far are you into it?

also you find out how the aliens get to earth by the start experiment
 
In the end the G-man offers you a job, if you accept it everything will go black and you've finished the game. The other ending is not to accept the offer, and you'll get transported to evil monsters who kill you quite fast =).

The aliens got to earth because of the experiment in the beginning, by accident a teleporter between the Xen world and earth was created.

yes you can, it doesn't take 2 weeks to play through the game
 
its beatable in one day, once you know what your doing...
shoot, if your a bad player, (Like die every time you meet a headcrab) turn on godmode, won't ruin the story...just the gameplay.
 
i finished it in 3 hours god, no cheats and on hard, only because ive finished it 10 times over the years lol!
 
yah ive played it through in one sitting before, but it was like my 5th time, counting the times i playing Counter-Life.

yah, you go to zen and fight aliens then a giant baby thing name nihilanth (spelling) and then you are talking to the g man and hes all like "time to choose bitch" and you choose stuff
 
In fact, the dimensional gateway was opened to allow humans to conquer xen. Freeman was just the pawn/spearhead. hence:

Test Subject: Gordan Freeman

...jeez - didn't you guys play the game?
 
I just played through first level again, for the hell of it. In the starting seqeunce you can see the GMAN standing on a platform as you go by. Ide NEVER noticed him before, it was so strange seeing him. THat intro truly is the best ever, i just havent seen it before now.
 
Not sure about this, but I think the Gman is in every chapter somewhere in the game.
 
The lambda team had already been to Xen. That's how they got the sample.

Lambda was a top secret complex of Black Mesa that not even the scientists in your area knew about. All they knew is that they had to test this new sample they had received. The test was tampered with by someone(G-man). It caused a huge portal to open.

Why did they do this? To take over Xen? Expecting Gordon to take over Xen or not is a pretty big assumption...
 
you see the bodies of dead scientists(?) with HEV suits on in Xen levels
 
Yes, that's from previous expenditions by the Lambda crew.

A scientist says something like "We were collecting samples in Xen until our scientists started to be collected themselves"

So if they already had access to Xen, why the need for a resonance cascade? How did they how Gordon would clean up Xen for them?
 
the cascade made it 2 way. So rather than sending scientists, g-man would get some aliens on earth for his own nefarious schemes :D.

maybe it also made teleportation to xen for freeman easier :\
like the chapter with all the portals. My memory is pretty fuzzy right now.
 
could just be that labda was stealing stuff from the guys heading to xen...

kinda gives it a new meaning eh?
 
I don't believe that the G-Man caused the accident.

You see those crystals at the end that you have to blow up before you can kill the end boss? Those are the same as the sample you push into the beam in the test chamber. (Valve apparently were going to make this more obvious but didn't).

It was the sample that caused the accident, which opened a portal that the Xen Aliens could invade through. Just before you go through to Xen at the end, a Lamda Scientist refers to a powerful Being maintaining the portal. This is the end boss.

(some of this is conjecture)

I have a hard time believing that. I've played it so many times I know it backwards, I just don't think it's physically possible to play through the entire game in 3 hours. I could be wrong, of course, but I still don't believe you :cheese:
 
Yeah i agree, i want a timelapse demo before i believe you Gordon'sFreeman :LOL:

the only shitty part is you can't really kill anything :(
 
errrm i could complete HL in 3hrs man. well prob be brain dead at the end
