HL1 grunts

I chuckled everytime i saw a grunt, he just came plodding over to me . I think the reason i wasnt scared of them is because they wield the hornet gun, which really did my head in.

The thing that scared me in hl1 was when you reach the second pool in apprehension, i fell in when the walkway broke, just before the vort, and i saw these Ichtysaours spawn...i crapped

HL1, undeniably a scarier and more involving game for it's time. But HL2 did scare me just now. Had the headphones on and in Nova Prospect (the bugbait bit). Went into this room with a poison zombie but forgot it was there from last time. Went to pick up some ammo and from behind me I hear the most wretched cry that I'm sure it's never done to me before. Sounded very... human. Quite stirring, really. I spun around and vaulted a few radiators at the beast as quickly as I could

the best game of all time is what you're missing.

I loved HL2, absolutely loved it, but HL1 will always remain my favorite game of all time. I thought HL2 at least equaled it, but there was something about the original that you just can't beat. sequels always have a tough time topping their former counterparts, whether it be movies or videogames, but HL2 did the best job I have ever seen.

Anybody remember the first time you see an alien grunt? I don't remember the exact chapter, but I remember walking into a laboratory of some kind, queing some pretty ambient dark music. There was this sort of cage thign in the middle of the room and when you look around to see what's inside it, BOOM a friggin Alien is right in your face...

and anybody who says that HL1 grunts nad the zombies in HL2 didnt scare is either a)lying or b) wasn't really playing the game.

that is right at the beggining of the chapter "Questionable ethics". that is my favourite chapter out of all of HL1
