HL2 advert

Guess they decided that people like us are all the advertisement they could ever need. And their right of course....

I think that advert is a testimet to the logo , that advert hardly mentions HalfLife2 at all. And yet it shows wot it is.

I like that advert :)

They should do some witty comment like the Opposing Force 'How can you think on your feet when your legs have been bitten off from the knee down' For HL2 it should be 'How can you kill aliens/mess with physics when you have Alyx's ass in your view'

Kinda cool ad because it doesn't even say Half-Life 2 anywhere. Half-Life 2 needs no mentioning, let the game speak for itself.

Simple but hugely effective. Ads like these are going for the reader's imagination, because that's all they need. :)

I'm not getting any more specific than my location entry, sorry.

Aaa well lol

Can i jus ask , if u go to school...what school do u go to (answer this 1 plz)

Voluntary ratings system >> government mandated ratings system.

lol i think the 'Hype Train' has been in motion again for about...2 weeks or so :)

P.S.: mods sry bout the sig...didnt know it was supposed to be limited to 4 lines or less :) please forgive me :)

In sweden the max age is like 15 or 18 at worst cases if the game is directly shipped from the UK.. Easy to buy, even 10 year olds don't even have to lie or anything, gamestore people just don't care.. :)

i am beginning to worry about when i go to buy UT2004....im turning 16 on the 11th but i look pretty young still(around 14 :( ) hope they will let me buy it cuz my parents=dont like shooters much and my 18 yr old bro=practically a monk so he hates ut2004 :|

guess i may end up simply going and ordering the game online even though i hate waiting for shipping :(

Actually, the ESRB has people working just looking at game adverts confirming their rating, so no, they couldn't just put it there and it not being true. With doom3 they could have sent it in but then decided to pull it and revise it.

It also depends on how old you look. I have friends who havent been asked for id's since they turned 14 because they look like theyre 20. Its the opposite for me, im 17 but I look like Im 14. Ill probably be asked for an id until im 30.
call me ignorant, but I just bought Half Life without thinking about the rating. They didn't think about the rating either, apparently, cause they let me through.. I think I'll buy HL2 through Steam.

I've never been asked about my age when buying 15+, or 18+ games, and that was when I was 13/14...

But when I meet new people and tell them I'm only 15 they never believe me... they swear that I look at least 18

whereas im turning 16 and look like im still 14 oh how life is cruel ;) ;(

The crowbar ad from pre e3 last year was cooler i think.

It didn't even have the halflife logo on it. Far as I know, didn't have Valve or any publishers on it. Just a picture of the crowbar, making a vague 2 with its shadow if i remember right.

But hey, i could be wrong : /

EDIT: Here is the Ad, from Planethalflife
