so with deus ex 2, on max settings, every 20 min of game play, my comp woud get teh blue screen of death, and my 9800pro would heat up to burning temps.

will this happen to hl2?

is there anything else besides water cooking to solve this?

Do you have a front case fan to bring in air and at least 1 fan at the back (Besides the PSU fan) to exhaust hot air?
Is there room behind your case for the air to escape or do you have your case enclosed behind a cabinet door or on the carpet floor that would suffocate the air flow?

 I think that might be a driver problem, I.E. peoples games crashing after couple minutes when Call of Duty first came out.

And if you're OC'ing the gfx card, turn it off and try it.

Yeah I always thought that the BOS was a result of driver issues, conflicts, or hardware conflicts. Of course I know it's not limited to this, but a large portion of occurances are from that.

lol that would suck. all the anticipation, all the waiting, and patience, you finally get hl2, you load it up, see the loading screen, your in shock that you about to play hl2, you start playing the game...first scene of the game...and all of a sudden your screen goes blue..

owned by the BSOD in hl2 could be any gamers worst nightmare ;p
