HL2 anti hype

It sure is finding anything to discuss about HL2, as everything has already been discussed, has another forum devoted to it, or is slightly off topic. Which makes me think, maybe the hype is running out fast.

I personally wish they released the game now with no major bugs, but maybe some small ones, then patched it up later.

But thats just me.

I'm pretty uninterested in HL2 right about now.

i stopped trusting valve a week ago, don't expect any new info or vids anytime soon....also i'd be overly surprised if valve decides to make the BM public today, since its only intended for the magazines/e-zines and hardware/software sites.

All in all i agree with Wesisapie, i really don't care about hl2 that much anymore....its sad....really....i know

not to mention steam is POS. and i heard that they are going to shut down the valve servers soyou can't play CS 1.5 and from now on use steam and 1.6

The hype for me has personally died off. I'll still buy it, no doubt, but I am not as eager to obtain it. I think when it now comes out I could even live without getting it the first day, I lost interest that much. Hell, I was even 100% full supporting Steam and I wanted to download Half-Life 2. But now that I know it will be a simultaneous release, I will just stick to retail. Despite having a huge fan base, Valve will always choose the casual market over it's die hard fans who are the ones who have been spreading the hype of their game. If it wasn't for the die hard fans like us, Half Life would not have been as popular as it is today. I think Valve should be ashamed for giving into the all-mighty dollar and saying "Up yours" to its true fans. Geez, if I ever become a game developer one day, I will always make sure that my fans come first before money. Without the fans, you got nothing. Give the fans what they want and they'll always have your back, it's a beautiful relationship. But right now I feel like a wife being beaten by a broomstick, or crowbar to be more relevant.

But i think its good the hype is dieing, then people dont expect so much of the game and then the chance of them being dissapointed isnt so high. But ofcourse close to when the game is coming the hype will start all over again

I just want VALVe to be straight with us for a change. This BS about the language localisation is a load of arse IMO. Most games have subtitles in any language and VALVe has had plenty of time to get the voice acting done. Plus, didn't the E3 commentator say that the characters facial anims can immitate any formed word in any language? It's already done ppl, they are just stalling for time to get NVIDIA's new drivers plumbed in.

Ah jeez, ever since DAY ONE when I downloaded that bloody 600 MB video on DIAL-UP all I've friggin wanted was to be able to walk around in that room with the water, the huge mossy wall, the water-gordon and the room with that sweet camera, and the room with the big pool and matresses, THAT"S ALL I WANT AND I KNOW IT'S SO CLOSE! it allready exists, they should just give it to me so I don't go on a murderous ramapage! I would be so happy if I could have a half hour in those rooms shooting those beams of wood and barrels and chucking mattresses and cameras etc!

You can.. sort of, it's the hl2_techdemo2 map for half life one... it rawwks!
