HL2 Available at Best Buy

I work at Best Buy. Just got off work. At the end of the day, our computers got a news item directly from the publisher to start stocking HL2 as the hard street date of 11/16 was no longer valid, due to other chains breaking it. So, I'm buyin my copy tomorrow and playin it. I don't care if you believe me, but I'm just reporting the good news. Also, CE will prolly be limited. Our store has about 12 in stock. About 250 of the regular though.

You can buy it, but you need to validate it through steam no matter if you want to play it on or offline, sorry but you gotta wait till 16th also

Technically, i don't think Vavle themselves have set an "official" unlock time. I think all of the date press releases have been set by Vivendi

But yea...i don't think that it'll be unlocked before Tuesday.

I don't know, it is kinda strange to have your average joe go into best buy purchase the game get home and find he can't play it. I am all for piracy protection, but a release that is within days of the rest of the world is considered a simultaneous release in this business. I don't think Valve will unlock it early but I think they should.

Guys... This could be very much true.....

I got a call from my old supervisor who knew i was waiting for Halflife2 before i left BB. Evidently their is a REALLY GOOD CHANCE that the street date wont be valid.

In other words....

Hardly anyone gives a rats what the street date is...

Even if I can't activate it I'd still be happy to get my copy of the game early... because activation is at 2AM on November 16th here, and EB Games won't be open then (even if they were, I wouldn't go). So if I got my copy early, I could go to bed early on Monday after getting home from work, then wake up at 2:00AM and play HL2 for 6 hours till I gotta go back to work
