blahblahblah said:Either the X800 Pro, X800 XT PE, 6800 GT, or the 6800 Ultra will run Doom 3 and Half-Life 2 with high settings. If you are talking semantics about frame rates, Nvidia cards run Doom 3 better while ATI cards will run Half-Life 2 better. It really is your choice. I personally would recommend the 6800 GT as a great card with great performance.
Tiddalick said:I don't think your correct in saying that.
Gabes big blow out against NVIDA occured nearly a year ago, before the advent of the 6800 class of card. I would say that NVIDA is back on top of the Graphics fight for the moment if the benchmarking for Doom3 was anything to go by...
The whole thing is like a see-saw
pingu said:a 9800 pro isnt gutless
can it run all of doom 3's effects?
yes it will...only without AA and AF... but who need s that crap at 1024.768? (if 30+fps isnt enought to play a game, i must be a really humble guy)Azrael. said:Check out the benchmarks from HardOCP, your computer wont be able to run Doom3 on high will all High settings at a high framerate, the 9800XT barely can. If you really want to rip through those games, I would upgrade to a X800 XT if you have the money, just because I feel like more games will be made on the Source engine rather than the Doom 3 engine, and the XT still runs Doom3 extremely well.
Your 9800 Pro will play it, but not on all high settings with a decent framerate.
DiSTuRbEd said:Ok, sure......Thats why the X800XT PE beats the 6800U in most benchmarks....
Your pick. loljOOblaR said:so.. which one?
