HL2 Details??

well there are 22 days left until the release and they havent had any "REAL" details about the game as in multiplayer and weapons, characters and such.....i think its time to release some info on the game since there is only 3 weeks away :thumbs:

EDIT: The only thing I could possibly want besides the game is the benchmark. If this is released before the game ships then it will be an invaluable tool for many in determining what settings to use when first launching the game. There would be nothing worse for my first Half-Life 2 experience than having it run between 5 to 10 fps during the opening.

There wont be any.. You'll have to wait until you get the game installed on your box, that's what Gabe says (not in those words but you get the picture)..

How do you know? Has Gabe or any other Valve employee stated this in an interview? If so, please provide a link or at least describe who gave it, when it was, etc. It seems foolish for them to not continue releasing the last batch of Bink videos. Why release them in the first place if you're not going to include each segment?

Seriously, don't expect any serious new information. Probably the other Bink videos, but I wouldn't hold your breath for new media as they have said that they'd rather let the players discover the game for themselves rather than have Valve inundate them with too much info, and losing some great surprises.

We're intentionally keeping stuff a surprise. As gamers, we really hate the fact that we've seen a whole game through screenshots during the two-year PR process that happens. So part of our goal of not announcing the game or showing screenshots or whatever was to preserve that mystery - if I plonk down $50 for the game, then I want to see stuff that I haven't seen before. I want to discover some stuff for my $50. So we're really trying to be respectful of that, of not giving everything away. -Doug Lombardi

That's not to completely rule out it happening, just don't get your hopes up.
Although some multiplayer details could be released as I doubt they'd let that be a secret to the last.

Um sorry to burst in here but how is one to amke the decision weither or not to buy HL2 singleplayer only or with multiplayer/mods if they don't have an idea what MP features will be included with HL2?

maybe they could just wait to hear other people's reviews... the only people who are really going to be serious about buying this game the first day are going to get both single and multi

Very good. I never thought of that. I hope Gabe is reding these forums now. He might think twice about multiplayer secrecy.
