I a discussing this here because its part of DM.

Why not make a new game mode like CSS T vs CT style? Would be cool throughing desks and tables around the bomb and the area its in to protect it etc...

I know some dont like CSS, but doesnt mean you wont like a HL2 DM style.

And that's where you're wrong already. If you throw too much stuff on one pile in HL2DM, the pile becomes "sticky", effectively preventing the pile to be rammed away because of some bug in the net code.

If you can fix that, go ahead. You'll probably find about 3 people and a small chipmunk who are interested for the mod, but it's your idea :p

Then it would be CS with HL2 models and weapons. All the CS kiddies would whine and complain because they can't get headshots as easily. As a matter of fact, the CS kiddies would complain about anything.

Just a bloody idea. The examples weren't the main source, they were just to get your brain understanding what I meant.

And I play CSS and I am over the required age to see Porn Sprays (which I dont like seeing), so keep that judgement to YOURSELF.

Now someone with atleast a little intellegence add to this idea instead of degrading it straight away. It was a 'mode' not a full conversion. Up to now HL2 MP has very little modes. Dont say I want a CS DM, I want that game mode, like the one in Call of Duty call Search and Destroy.

Fine.
So you want to have that game mode. Go ahead and make it. I just gave my opinion of the mode and also stated a problem that might jeapordize the entire thought of the mod (For instance, blocking doorways, but not being able to open them up again). Maybe I was a bit too harsh in my opinion, but I can't edit it now (auto-closes after 24 hours)

And I didn't say anything about CSS or porn sprays :p

I know you didnt, it was to the other guy.

I wont make it, I didnt say I was going to. If I was I would have posted it in a more appropraite board, but as it stands, its just a discussion about how to make a game mode thats not just pointless killing, instead have objectives with atrategy involved.

Different people like different things. Some people enjoy not having a task to do, just killing everything that moves. Great for the adrenalin and madness factor.

The thing that keeps me playing DM is the fact that you can throw anything nearly with the gun.

I really do think it could be a lot different, and with a better (or at least very different) feel to it than CSS.

CSS has a lot of solid gameplay power, with solid weapons, etc. Just throw in a gravity guns, moveable blockades, Combine, Rebels, and some other new stuff to make the game deeper and more involving (and not so darn bland and competitive), and you could have something there.

It would also be interesting to see HL2: DM with counter-strike rules. These things would be interesting, but it would take a dedicated team and a lot of time to find out if it would actually turn out to be worth the effort.

The community is quite slow right now, so who knows; could be worth it to make something that's at least guranteed some success.

And Flewk, sorry about the nay-saying nay-sayers who refuse to try to see things the way you implore them to.
