Hi everybody, i'm new here.
I recently installed Episode 2 on my computer. The game is loading well, no bug and lag.

But when I see screens of the game, I realize that I have a bug.

Look at the flashlight logo, it doesn't look good..

So is there someone who has the solution for my problem?

You can fix that with Steam by validating your files. Are you using Steam?

Go on to Steam and click the button that says "Validate a Game on Steam" (or something along those lines) in the 'My Games' tab and follow the instructions.

Are you a first time Steam user? The only time I remember using that was when I first started using Steam, back in '06 when I bought CSS. When I got the Orange Box in the Christmas of '07, I don't remember having to validate it.

henno13, the product was already activate.
But Barnz, I followed the steps you gave and it's validating.

I'll check once done. ;)

go to options>keyboard>advanced and enable developer console

then type the ~ key (to the left of the 1 key) and enter this

hud_reloadscheme

then hit enter......fixed?

if not i'm calling it pirated OR fix your video drivers

Seconding hud_reloadscheme.
It worked for me when the hud in TF2 sometimes screwed up.

I uninstalled Steam with E2 and reinstalled it. I validated my game cache, downloaded the last graphic card drivers and write the thing in the command line, it still doing this bug.

I could swear this is a bug from having the Half Life 2 font installed. Look in your Windows/fonts folder and see if you find hl2.ttf in there.

I have been having the bug for ages as well. I have tried everything and I don't have hl2.ttf installed...

Ok I deleted the Half Life 2 font in my windows files and it's correct now!
Seems to corrupt my half life 2 game.

Thank's guys. :)

I don't have hl2 font installed, but I still have that problem. :(
Do anyone know what other fonts would mess up the game?

You're absolutely sure you don't have any sort of Half Life/Half Life 2 font installed? It doesn't necessarily need to be called hl2.ttf for it to mess up the HUD.

Not sure. That will be a bad news for me.
I got over a hundred .tff files in that folder. :(
Is there anyway I can discern half life font among all other fonts?

Did you do things like validating your cache files or write the command line in the console?

Hmmmm, I may have gotten my info wrong, sorry. I think it definitely has to be called halflife2.ttf or hl2ep1.ttf etc because it causes a conflict with the HL2 fonts provided in your Steamapps folder. Take a look through the fonts in the Steamapps folder (search for *.ttf to make it a bit easier) and see if you can find anything that's similarly named to a font in your Windows/fonts folder.

I remember having this problem (amongst other problems with Episode Two when it was first released, for example, English dialogue had messed up). I think randomly one day it was fine.

Nothing works. I even deleted the .ttf files in my Steam folder and redownload them. The icon remains the same, broken.
