Hi there, first post on the forums (after a little bit of Google crawling).
Basically, when i try and launch counterstrike source this happens every single time:
-double click on counterstrike
-"preparing to load counterstrike source"
-that dissapears a timer comes up then "hl2.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close..."
I have googled crawled and tried all sorts of solutions, but i am literally open to any suggestions. It seems a lot of people have encountered this and different things work for different people. Some details of my system.
Dell Inspiron 9400
Intel(R) core (TM)2 CPU
T7400 @ 2.16GHz
2.16GHz 2.00GB of RAM
Im running Windows XP proffesional
Service Pack 2 (not sure if that would effect anything?)
117gb free hardisk space with 143gb in total.
Im a little new to all of this so if you need any more infformation just ask. Any ideas you have fire away and i will give it annother go and tell you if i have tried it before.
(i am not installing and reinstalling steam and/or counter strike again though, done it twice and it takes forever!)
