Apollagies for my other threath, I did use the search function wrongly :(
Anywayz, I'm new to the board, so hi all :)

My question is, I've bough the ASUS ATI Radeon 9600XT, and it says I get HL2 for free with it.

I was wondering how they are going to do this, since HL2 is not completed/released yet. Will I receive some voucher wich I can bring to the closest computer store? Will the game be sended to my home? Will this free version also contain acces to the internet or is this a single player version only?

Also I was wondering if I can fully enjoy HL2 without fpsdrops with this card. (I've got a 2.8gHz processor and 2x512 DDR memory)

Thnx,
SaphuA

As far as I know, there should be a voucher for the game included somewhere in the package, and yes, the game should be full; both single player and multiplayer.

Finally, I'm sure your rig will have no problem handling the game.

There is a voucher in the box, with which you can either a) download the game via steam, or b) send the voucher along with some other documents (reciept etc) to ATI who will ship the game to you, but you must allow 4-6 weeks for delivery. I'm guessing from your english you're not in USA or UK, or any other english speaking country, which means you'll be waiting a good few weeks for the game.
No one is really sure what version we are getting... least as far as i know, no one is sure...
And the card is good, but if you run hl2 at full quality you will get fps drops on that card, at least in my opinion...

finally, there are plenty other posts about this, so do some more searching...

Yes my english is bad, still trying :)

Anywayz, this is what I realy wanted to know, thnx a lot...
If there is more info about what version I'll get then plz contact me..

I think I read on another thread about some issue with certain ASUS 9600XT cards not coming with the vouchers.. might be the ATI explains thread in this section of the forum

I've got a Sapphire 9600XT and it came with the voucher, so you might want to look into why you didn't get yours with it if you know you were supposed to have got one.

And yeah Abom's right, it should play beautifully on those specs. With most of it being DX hardware stuff the game probably relies more on the card than the cpu, so you should be just fine with that :)

But I would suggest looking for that ATI thread and see what the deal is about not having a voucher with the Asus cards.

the 9600xt comes in either the lite or full version... the lite version doesn't come with the voucher. If it says on the box that a free copy of half life 2 is included, then the voucher will be in there, if there's nothing on the box about it, you probably got the lite version, and no free copy. The voucher is quite small (a bit bigger than a credit card, and grey). And your english is not bad i can just tell it's not your first language :)
If i could speak a second language that good, i'd be pretty pleased...

I know what the voucher is for.

You're suppose to give yourself 100's of paper cuts and hopefully halucinate, from blood loss, what HL2 will be like.

From my experience, HL2 seems very buggy. When I play I see lots of little white dots then my screen goes black for a few hours.

Computer should be fine... you might have to download hl2 through ati's website or steam.

If i could speak a second language that good,
if I could speak a second language that well, :P

It's a small voucher with gray "scratch-off" stuff. Once you scratch it off, you can't return the video card so there's a warning to wait until you have tested the hardware. :D

This is probably because its an unfinished beta and youre video drivers weere set up incorrectly.

Errr... gee, PainLord, I think the stuff about the little white dots and the black screen is chu continuing the "hallucinate to see HL2" joke...
