HL2 Gold?

Well sorry if this is posted before but im in a scramble to get HL2 and i want to go gold but my parents are leary of how it works can anyone give me a detailed description of how you get HL2 off steam? thanks for the help-sorry for the question.

You download it. If you are refering to the Soundtrack, that is shipped to you with the other physical things.

it's incredibly easy to find this information out. You should have searched the site or gone to the official halflife website www.half-life2.com

fyi the offers over steam bronze/silver/gold are to be downloaded and saved on your pc.

Offers in store tomorrow will come on cd. I'd get it from the shop cos you won't be able to download it all in time.

you download the hl2 preload... buy the game online which will then permit steam to unlock the game once its finished...

u REALLY should have researched this BEFORE the eve of release Cause now u have an approx 7 gig download to look forward too... if you started preloading a while ago, you could simply purchase the game through steam, and all would be good...

O well, im going retail anyway

if u are looking for CD/DVD than u are better off purchasing the game tomorrow at a store...but!!!

if u don't mind downloading off Steam than its not a bad option.. once downloaded, Steam has a "backup utility" which allows u to backup the game cache files onto a CD/DVD.

so it depends on what u are looking for here.

Solidox, here is how it works.

You download the preloads and everything until you don't have to download anything else.. then just click on "purchase game through steam" and select what package you want (look at above posts).
After you buy it, all you have to do is wait until it is released (tomorrow) Then just double click on half life 2 in steam and you should be good to go.

The download is around 3-4 gigs. If you're on 56k speed don't even bother.. but if you're on broadband.. like dsl or cable, it should download it in a couple of hours.

yah i have calbe at about 3 meg but becuase of delays it doesnt look like i can do this. Steam is on the wrong Hard drive so it doesnt have the space and i cant seem to transfer it to the other one and too many people are Preloading so its a mute point. might as well just get the CE edition.
