HL2 graphical/ Aliasing problems

Hey there, I just bought the Orange Box from Steam and I am having some problems. Even with all the advanced settings set to their maximum, the game's Anti-Aliasing, shadows, and overall model and texture details look terrible. On the other hand, when I went to try the Lost Coast, everything looked great and normal with the settings set to their highest. Some help would be great, thank you.

The thing to remember is that HL2 was released in 2004 so it's a bit dated now. The Lost Coast and the Episodes are built on newer iterations of the Source engine.

Try enabling 4xAA instead of 6xAA, 6x doesn't work sometimes.

6x only works on ATI cards
