I was thinking something, in the end of HL g-man offer you a choise you stay or you go with him.

So could you think that HL2 could begin by the end of HL you make the choise again in HL2 begining and the story of HL2 depend of that choise, I think this is interesting for the gameplay.

I don t know if the HL2 begining will be like that but it s sound cool !!!

What do you think guys about it ???

Its already been anounched officialy by valve people that you start the game some time in the future after making the choice of working for the G_Man.

Yeah, and there's not going to be an intro, you're just going to start. I'd like something like the monorail from HL1, maybe that's what the boat is, you're on the boat, then there's the shitstorm, and then Xenitians infest the boat and by the time it sinks it's at the docks, and then there's the HL2 movie Dock scene. Since you pick up a crowbar that has to be the beginning.

I dont think the dock is really the beginning simply cause I dont think valve would give that away at this point.

That would be pretty cool , exept without the xen guys lol. G-man on a boat with you and hes debriefing you ( someone said youd be debriefed and told why youre needed again) and telling you what to do in your new job. September , oh so far away.

You have a point, but look at it though, the atmosphere says Gordon doesn't know what's going on, and it feels like it's the beginning of the game.

OR it could be just another part of the game setup to show off the crowbar a bit for E3. The HL2 Teaser that came before the large E3 videos had the same scene only Gordon had a shotgun and the zombie threw a barrel at him before he got up close and personal with the shotgun.

Its been said by gabe that its some time after black mesa, though the last thing gorden remembers is his conversation with the gman.

I really hope that there is an intro showing the engine off. Im fairly confident there will be, valve seem receptive to the things that people associate with the game, eg crowbar was the first thing we heard of half life 2. I think itl be there.

It would be really cool though if the game started off in the tram with those horrible Half-Life 1 graphics, you step through the portal and... emerge in the stunning new world of HL2 with a view of City 17 from a ship or something. Maybe they could have you dream the "g-man endgame" sequence and awaken to HL2. That would be very cool!

HL2 Takes place 15 years after HL. So... they have already assumed you made the decision to go to work with the "G-Man" The mystery is where has Gordon been for 15 or so years?

Maybe if Valve made up everything so far and had a bit of an odd approach to it. You show up at the tram in Black Mesa and realize HL1 was a dream:D

Maybe there really isnt a source engine, maybe in september they are gonna release ANOTHER HIGH POLY PACK!!!! **plays scary music**

best way would have been to do it is show the conversation of gman and gordon in origanal HL1 graphics. You step through the door and the new HL2 engine fades in

1 of the things i think ill love about HL2, no intro, no videos, nothing but gameplay...its all you, the player. its great, insted of having some cutscene explain your current situation in the story you will do it ypurself

That's what I said

Yep , and as it fades in G-man says "... Welcome back Mr.Freeman.."

Youve been in a coma obviously (text at end of e3 videos) and theyve done some type of surgery on you.

That would be the best intro ever, I can't think of anything more fitting. Waking up to the G-mans voice...perfect.

"We've been rather bussy in your abssssensse Misster Freeman"
Man, I'd like to smack the G-man in the face with a baseball bat just to get rid of his lisp.

My guess is that you will not hear anything from the G-Man (or anyone else for that matter) until later in the game. The G-Man told you what you mission is, but it's up to you to find out.
