Hey, I have a problem. I'm running CS at 1024X768, and it runs great, nice and smooth. But I'm running HL2 Deathmatch at 600X800 and it's slow as mollasses! I don't know, maybe some video card issue? In case you need to know, I'm running Windows XP with a Radeon 9700 Pro.

Someone help, please? :x

Intel (R)
Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.06GHz
2.32 GHz, 512 MB of RAM

gfx card? shouldn't be that much difference in performance between css and hl2dm, but I would say that hl2dm would be slightly more of a strain because of the objects etc that are used in teh game, alot more to think about and render.

I believe he's talking about the lag, that occurs in the game when the objects fly around....ya it's choppy because of the lag.

Yea...HL2DM is almost always lagging like that for me if there are more than 5 people in the server :(

Your system could probably do with another 512 megs of ram.

read what he wrote

Hmm does the 3.06GHz have an 800FSB or 533?
Anyway, memory might help as well. Getting up to that 1GB mark.

I looked it up and it's 533FSB. Have single or dual channel memory?

What's the 2.32GHz from? Is your CPU downclocking?

HL2DM is much more stressing than css. Maybe you should get more ram, maybe check for stuff running in the background?

BTW, i've always wanted a 3:4 aspect ratio monitor :E
