HL2 lost its magic?

Half Life 2 has not lost its magic. Didn't you see Gordon cast level 10 ownage on that zombie in the E3 video? Then the Gman cast Mirror Image and Meteor Storm. Gordon barely escaped on the Griffin before being attacked by the green dragon.

Holy crap, since when did HL2 have magic? LIGHTNING BOLT, LIGHTNING BOLT!

Very Warcrafty, had a laugh.

Aftermath sucked.

Fishlore if you liked defense/enemyunknown you should check out projectxenocide.com its a remake in progress.

Graphics as has been said quite a few time now, do not make a game. (UFO? what about Solar winds, or ascendancy!)

In Half-Life2 they simply facilitate a story which has certainly not lost its magic

Ah, yes I remember "lightning bolt!" .. lmao.

For the topic: HL2 hasn't lost anything, now hush.

maybe the current gfx of HL2 aren't that overwhelming anymore, but Valve has said several times that they can update the source's gfx...so HL2 should be @ the top for several years, if valve would want to

Andy thanks a bunch for the heads up about projectxenocide.com? Do you keep up with the developement closely? Do you know if they have a publisher, or if they are doing more of a grass-roots type thing?

guys...

if its only taken 10 years to get this far (maybe 12)....

imagine what games will be like in another 10-12 years?... wow..

Here's a hint: HL1 still hasn't yet.
Touche. I think thats about all the explanation you need.
The longer VALVe works on it the better its going to get.
Just stop bitching and wait for it to come out, when it does your be plesently suprised just how "magical" it really is.

To you flaming clowns...I posed a question for discussion...nothing more.

What do you guys think? Has the game been hurt by this long development time?

Learn to read before you flame.

For the topic: good point about HL1

For legal purposes, its not a remake, it is a game "inspired by the original Xcom: Defense game".

It's being made by fans, myself included, and will be a free release. If you want to help, you are more than welcome to post in the recruitment section of the forums. We are always looking for 2d and 3d artists, coders and creative text writers.
