HL2 Multiplayer Newb Question...

If I purchase HL2 + Multiplayer, will I have to pay for a subscription to steam to play online? Or will it be free?

If I buy a $50 (US) game, I don't want to be paying $10 a month for a feature that should have been covered with the initial payment (at least IMO).

no, no fee is needed to play MP or Mod games, provided you buy the MP version of HL2 for ~$50...

the fee gets you any Valve released expansion or full game on a subscription (you can play them all for as long as you keep paying) and that's all...

EDIT: do a search for "SKUs" and you'll probably find the info you need. That word was used a lot in reference to the purchase options
