HL2 Multiplayer Player Models.

Once again sorry if this thread has been started before. Please condone me.

I was wondering has ______(I use underscore because I know VALVe has been disbanded and I guess Vivendi would go there?) released any info of the player models that will be included in MP. I remember MP Half-Life had Gina, scientist, zombie, and some other models in there. Has anyone received any word about the models? Also if you have will it be like an infinite amount of models where you select the pants, shirt, face?

Another thing what modes of play do you think the MP Half Life 2 will inherit.
Im thinking probably a game like escape the Combine soldiers, defeat the Striders. If you played MP Half Life you remember it had majorly two Deatmatch, and Team DM. Fun times.

They haven't said much about anything with MP, especially not models. I think that's the least of their worries.

It would be cool if they had one mp map where it was the dried up sea (like e3 03 video) and there would be a couple buggies and you could drive striders, and it would be total chaos, I know they said Source can support like 256 clients. but how much will hl2 support?? im hping at least 64 people

Hmm.. now that you mention it, this should be a MP mode. That would be sweet. Resistance could have tanks and helicopters, and combine can have Striders and those flying manatees.The object would be the resistance has to blow a hole through the big black wall and then disable it or something like that, and the wall slowly eats through the map so the resistance only has a certain amount of time and the map gets smaller and smaller.

That idea is so cool btw. Each team would have advantages, like the Combine soldiers have their radio communication, resistance fighters have... Unique identities?

You mean download other player's skins? I haven't seen a system for that yet..

Im going to have to concur with Bicka on this one. It would take way to much time. Thats why i say develop a system wher you can choose your shirt, jeans, shoes, face, facial hair what not it might be a little machine taxing but will make everyone sort of unique to their own.

Halflife1 deathmatch allowed you to choose a model but also to change the colour of certain parts. Maybe they'll update that system like you suggested o3jox.

They said in some magazine ages ago that valve were "toying with the idea of making the strider driveable" or walkable but I don't think they did that, think how hard that would be to make.

Depends on what the MP really is, if like you said it's only DM then yeah it will die out fast.
