Sometime between now and 3 years, we all need to agree to meet at some place at some time.

Really, I want to meet all you guys in person.

And hopefully not get molested by SOME of you.

I say we all go to Hawaii.

How about, all the americans go meet with the americans in some state, and all the europeans go meet with the europeans in some country.

considering the average age on these boards is about 6, i doubt we will ever see each other. its probably for the best.

There was talk of this, but words like "Liability", "Duty of care", "Underage" and "Crippling gross negligence class action lawsuit" killed it pretty fast.
 
We should all meet 10 ~ 15 years later then. :p

Why would it be HL2.net's responsibility?

Somebody dies or gets raped, not your problem. They can't blame it on you.

Personally I think this is a awsome idea to have a get to gether with all of the members and staff of hl2.net, It may be a issue though for some people. I live in Strasburg VA. So I was thinking we could have it in D.C lol. But seriously that would be the biggest problem. Location. I just don't know about this idea sure it sounds good but can it be pulled off.

Let's all meet on december 31st on Nana plaza in Bangkok, Thailand. We should have a blast of a time there.
That's about as realistic a plan as every other one
 
So will this be Half-Life 2's version of a Star Trek convention?
 
meh, i've seen it work on many forums, there weren't any problems at all.

all they do is find a bunch of people who live in the same area, or are willing to travel a bit and choose a date they're all free.

.. i've never been to one though, not many people in my area.. or australia; though, they always have photos and stories posted, it's fun to read.
 
Does work, because it's been done with some other members (7 of us), it was a quality day out. I think you really must know the people you are going to meet well and organise it properly.

Haha, i'd be up for a UK meeting, as long as it's not in newcastle or something.

I've got a 7 seater volvo estate so if anyone within the line of travel between my house and the location i could give a lift.

My friends and I met a group of airsofters that had a league via a forum. Now we go do to their place and play airsoft every couple of weeks. Turned into pretty good friends actually. And... we haven't been raped.
