Hl2 not on valve "Projects"

I decided to take a glacen at valves website. I clicked on projects. Amazingly i didnt see Half-Life 2 in there. Did valve SOMEHOW for get to add this? They have TFT 2. why not hl2??? Wierd huh? Valve is making me mad, as other people have said "It should not take this long to recode what we had to dl"

Why dont valve MAKE A BACKUP of there work either???

Why hasnt valve givin us a exact Release date on the SDK besides "Several Weeks" How come valve hasnt answered me email yet!!! Its been like 3 or 4 days now.....Usually id thing they would answerin like 2 days or somtin. Ne ways ima go and post some more.
 
Valve has more important things to worry about than your silly emails and HL2.
 
HL2 doesnt exist, didnt you get the memo?
 
You need to settle the hell down boy.

1...them not having HL2 on their game list is really really old news that, like LoneDeranger said, Valve didn't every really have time to bother with a stupid little game list on their website.

2. What people downloaded was some really old build of the game and some of the Source code. Its not like someone took off with part of the game and they have to make it all over again. People got to see exactly how some things worked in HL2 and that could lead to a horrible amount of cheating once it comes out if Valve didnt fix it......like they are right now.

Just because you want them too........dosn't mean they're gonna answer your email. There is no law saying they have to.

Still there is a lack of a moderately updated official Valve presence on the net. They should just get somebody to do things like that, Blizzard's online website is a perfect example. But it's known fact now that Half-Life 2 was an elaborate hoax concocted by MAVAV simply to shatter the gaming community's morale.
 
its not on the projects page because it is done. duh
 
NEVER USE BLIZZARD AS AN EXPAMPLE OF A GOOD BUSINESS!!.. Okay, now that I got that out of my system. Blizzard may keep their site up-to-date, but they take forever to update their games. I am a player of Blizzard's Diablo 2, and it took them over a year and a half after they announce their version 1.1 patch. They like Valve kept having release days and never meeting them. I really hope Valve doesn't term out to be just like Blizzard

LOL whats that got to do with anything? Are you saying they got broken into because they didn't make a backup? Have you listened to what your saying?

It's not on projects because as yet they don't have an official website for it.

They will have an official website for it once they have something to make a website on. They may not even make a website until it's released which is what I think they did with HL1. Anyway, it'd be Sierra/Vivendi that make the website - not Valve.

We have no idea what Valve are doing. All we know is that the game wasn't finished for the 30th September and that the delay was NOTHING to do with the leak.

Valve do make back up copies of their work - what has that got to do with anything though?

Valve obviously doesn't have a strict release date. You've clearly never worked in an environment where people need to stick and work to a deadline. If you had then you'd realise if you don't HAVE to give someone a due date, then it's probably best not to, just to avoid trouble and disappointment.

If you send them crap like that post there, I'm not surprised they haven't answered you.
 
No im justt not feeling good thats all......i mean when i said if valve made backups possibly every day on a sepereate computers and transfered files via cd then they would have a backup from when the source was stolen... (Most likly are probably lying and are trying to buy time for finishing up, but ya never know they could be tellin da truth)
Yes i am used to working in an enviroment with strict release dates. I like to call it hell, otherwize known as school.
Actually what i said to valve was a few questions which wernt that dumb..... I saved the email if u guys want an exact copy of what i said.

Im just getting a bit tired of waiting....

And Blizzard did release D2 1.10 patch i know it was a long ass time....and yes i did get a bit mad at blizzard, but they kept there Main d2xp site up to date and posted many things about all the new stuff so that was good enough to look at.

I got very low patients...thats all...But as we get closer and closer to an end mark for several weeks id think they may put a release date on it soon. They have a page for TF2 why not Hl2. Im stupid but only for a while, i have a multipersonality thingy in which i can adapt to multiple sorroundings becuz i have to talk 1 way to piss off no one on the stormcoast forums, another way for the starforge forums, and another way for my friends. So maybe in a few weeks i wont be to stupid that much becuz i will relize what i say and dont say is dumb or not.....(its weird)

Blizzard makes great games but yeah they are bad with release dates. I admit that, they are pretty much the worst damn company when it comes to release dates. Wasnt Starcraft:Ghost suppose to come out in December? lol. Although there games are usually pretty damn good.

(Note if Valve does give us a release date and then sets it back a month or more i might cripple up and die)
 
It amazes me (along with my bad spelling) the amount of people out there who read an article that says source code stolen and them think this means valve no longer have it. It's not like a burgler walking out with your VCR more like someone photocopying your diary.

I know not everything was stolen just a small portion, in witch they are rewriting. Im not that dumb, but im saying if they really were pretty much finished, then if they made a backup at the end of the day before that then they would have only had to of recode what they lost during the day it was stolen. Which then wouldnt that just hold the release date back 1 to 2 days?

nobody STOLE the code.. they just haxxored into it and copied it..
 
NO! you dont get it, stolen=copied!!!! the data was not taken away from them just copied, the only reason for them to rewrite any data is because there was CD key data, and some info making it easier to make hacks for the game.
 
They HAVE all the files. The problem is that someone ELSE has them too. The files weren't LOST, they were COPIED. They have to rework some things now for security and anti-cheating.
 
they are recoding it to counter act what those stealers might have figured out to create cheats for a game which is not out yet, not that they stole one piece and hace to create it again , sorry if thats what u ment by a previous post.
 
They weren't pretty much finished at all. They still had ways to go. A while ago, someone asked Gabe if the source code hadn't been stolen, would it have been released. His answer was no.

Rewrite the code because someone one stole it... please! They get most of the same code when the SDK come out.

Minerel, they don't need to give a release date not because they have nothing to show, but they are trying to make a game to experience to remember, sorta like hl2, no release date on sdk? maybe because they don't want to tell people when its going to be release because either they don't know or they want to suprise us, because with sdk, hl2 will release soon. They didn't answer your email because you act like a little ****ing bitch, thinking you deserve everything from them...

and just so you know The Leak/steal/hack "did NOT affect the release of Hl2"

as said by Valve.
 
I wish they did have internal deadlines for things to do with Half Life 2. People work better under a schedule then they do without one. People who hold onto something for too long tend to get lazy and just do occasional "touch-ups" rather then push themselves to be complete. For them to say something like "It'll be done when it's done" is like Michaelangelo taking years to put a potato on a table in one of his paintings. You just keep staring at it thinking of how to make it better when there really is nothing else you can do. Then there's the possibility that you overdo something and wind up making it worse.

At THIS point in the game's development, they should be squashing bugs and translating- not adding content. Atleast that's what I hope anyway.
 
whoosh... Didn't feel like reading all the posts but I hope I'm not the only one thinking that they need to make a news page with some kind of status. Their current website pretty much lacks everything needed in a good game developers website...
