HL2 on 2nd monitor in multimonitor setup

Hi ppl!

Is it possible to run Half Life fullscreen on the 2nd monitor (my projector) in a multimonitor/dualview setup? (Or is there no other way then to change the 2nd monitor/projector into the main/first monitor before launching HL2?)

You might be able to do it by switching in window's display properties which display device is "primary" not sure if that will work though, because i know some applications just use the first display it can enumerate.

Yeah that is possible, but it screws up the layout of my desktop (where the icons are) and it requires more fuzz....

I was hoping for the HL2 engine to support this directly....

You'll find that anything like this is going to be a direct function of your video card and it's drivers. Hence, why we need more info. Ati? Nvidia? 6800? forceware? beta? version? projector model? monitor model? Anything else pertinent you can think of would also be nice.

I must admit I am a bit thrown off by the current setup you are describing. My current setup is two 7800 gtx's in SLI. Each card allows two monitor support. My display properties allow my to desigante which monitor is my primary display & which one is the secondary. I assume you want to be able to switch to using your projector when playing halflife 2?? I assume this is what you want?

But the noob found the ultimate tool: "Ultramon", it has the ability to lauch programs on the secundary screen while the desktop on the 1st screen stays where it is; without any fuzz, as for HL2. Thanks for your help guys & headcrabs!
