The extent that some people will go:

Following the news yesterday, of several high profile games being leaked onto the Internet, it has transpired that copies of Half-Life 2 (and Counter-Strike: Condition Zero) are being sold on the black market in the Ukraine.
The boxed software is being sold as a full game, but contains only the leaked builds and source code that appeared on the Internet last autumn.

It's not even really the black market. The government doesn't give two hoots, or even helps the people involved to sell it.

I walked into an EB the other day in Toronto and saw an HL2 box and almost shit my pants. I picked it looked on the back of the box, it looked like the friggin game then I said to the dude behind the counter "WTF this game isn't out yet" he replied "I know, you're about the 100th person to come in here and say that about the promo box we received a couple days ago." lol I thought I was losin my mind

Anyhow, selling warez seems far too common in other countries, my sister bought 20 or so boot-legged CDs in China for $2 each.. now THAT'S a good deal lol

BUT my friend says that he can speak the language and translated and that it says its an official demo, not the full game.

that or they could have both the full game and an official demo.

but it says it on there literally "OFFICIAL DEMO"... according to my friend that read it.

Isn't that one of the unwritten laws of nerdum. U can't abuse the word official! It's like one of those guys rules such as. Same as any other piece of software in such a pirate market, about $1 to $2. Pick the software you want, Windows XP, Office, games etc, wait 10 minutes and you have your disc(s).
