HL2 Prob_ AI related --- SandTrap

I searched for this problem in the forums... but i couldnt find it.. tho i found it on another site... and the thread was locked.. with no solution,...

firstly... i need to do the ai_disable command everytime i start the game...
is there anyway i dont have to do it every time
then in the level SandTrap
when i kill the first big monster.... in the canyon...
and i have to follow barney thru the door...
i cant do so....
it just keeps on saying... "follow freeman" but it blcks the door.. or closes it behind him.. and doesnt let me pass.. what should i do?

2nd: buy the game... the A.I problem only accures when you don't have the original game...

You lot are wrong. The A.I. Problem CAN occur with the legal game. Only difference is you CAN'T fix it with the illegal version.

I suggest you try validating your GCF files (Right-click HL2 in the Steam menu, then click options, then click "Validate game files"). Hopefully that'll fix any errors. If it still doesn't work then you might have to reinstall HL2. Lucky you have the CD's and don't need to download them.

umm.. im not using the steam version.... its the dvd version...... errrr.... now what?

am downloading the official patch as well.... hope it would work fine...

The DVD version is also with Steam. If yours is not, then you bought a bootlegged copy from some pirate who ripped the game and burned it onto a DVD disk.

I was going to agree, but then I relised I download music all the time,
I do however buy alot of music as well, its about keeping a healthy balance imo, I wouldnt pirate a game though, although I have in the past.
