I'm actually working on my first map which is a buggy race map.

It's very 'terrain-heavy', something in the Coast levels in HL2, except with bumpier stuff, and ramps.

It is slightly more challenging when handling the buggies, and as most of you all should know, the buggy tends to "run off" in the direction from when you lost control and will be hard to steer back. So I decided to add some ramps, although wide, can be hard to stay balanced on.

One problem is that the players might have to get out of their buggies quite frequently to flip their buggies back, but I guess that's where the need to practice comes in.

Here are some shots of the compiled map, without VIS and RAD (I ran the map with mat_fullbright 1), solely with the purpose to test the gameplay with a friend and to see how everything runs nicely together.

I'll have to fix some stuff up, do up the lighting, and I think I can probably release it the next day or something.

What would be cool is to replace the gun with a mounted manipulator, so you try to flip or knock off track the other drivers.

why are we limiting ourselves to buggys and airboats. personally i think theyre both pretty boring. make some cool concept cars and some insane racing vehicles humanity hasnt even conceived of yet!

I actually made a racing map. rr_racetrack.zip

It supports 20 racers (20 buggies). Sorry for fullbright. Rad was freezing my computer so I wasn't able to get it to work even after last update. There is a camera for someone to be the cameraman, also a large tv. The textures are simple because It was going to be some kind of cyber race track thingy. Problem is people join the get in a buggy and drive off, not listening to anything anyone says so it is near impossible to organize a race. Later I might add textures to iit if I have extra time, but i thought that looked cool.

If you think of something to add to make it better in anyway, please PM me. (I'm not adding a pit stop area, There is no need for one on it.)
