HL2 Rube Goldberg Device: Reloaded

I saw this the other day! it's amazing. Couldn't be bothered putting the time and effort to set it up myself. But I could watch someone else do it all day :E.

That was just amazing.
Rimfire: It's like a machine that has one trigger (shooting a barrel) and then that triggers off something else which triggers off something else, and it leads to a conclusion. worth a watch but needs to be higher quality.

I know - I don't want to think how long it took whoever did it. I mean, it's impressive, but... the hours and hours it must've taken. <Shudders>

It reminded me of Peter's "breakfast machine" in Family Guy :D

Holy crap that was awesome!
I loved how he used the spinning playground things to explode the barrels. When the combine flew threw the air and hit the barrels i was lmao.

Edit: yah lol el Chi. "What the hell is that?!? All it does is shoot you!!" :D

"Oh GOD! It doesn't make breakfast at ALL!"

I *attempted* to do one of these once. Basicly, the idea was that there would be a bunch of dominoe type things/ explosive crap/ gravity effects/ thrusters. Then at the end a Ant Guard is released and it charged at a little rebel.

I failed, because every time I started it SOMETHING was always a little bit too far to the right, or something didn't go far enough. I had to set everything back up again, movie entire structures around etc.
So I just gave up.

back in the 80s or early 90s there was some german team of engineers and artists that made a rube goldberg device that when edited down for viewing audiences was still an hour and a half long. the reason for the editing down being that there were some parts of the contraption that were slow chemical reactions like having a certain chemical release enough gas to inflate a balloon or have a certain liquid boil away.

That must of taken many, many, many, many, hours to build, test, troubleshoot, test again, until it worked. That's nuts.

Everyone download the song Lacrimosa by Immediate Music. Press play and watch these videos at the same time, it imporoves the awesome by a factor of 100

Man, ragdolls must be more predictable than previously anticipated!

it is pretty impressive, but i just think of how labour intensive setting it up must have been.

and xombine, i dont think you realise how offensive your signiture is. and it isn't profound. it also doesn't make sense.

Hey, it's OvA. You can't expect him saying something that doesn't insult someone :p
Just check my signature. OvA is weird, and we like it that way :p

I'm going to try and make 1. I've already got the giant hammer working 9/10 times :E

Hey are you that guy that arr... loves Alyx Vance?

Makes me want to play the even more incredible machine. That game was awesome when it came to Rube Goldberg type devices.

Those were awsome! For some reason the g-man flipping out in the chair in the last one made me LOL.

That was awesome, yet the bad resolution/quality hurt my eyes...and made it difficult to see what props they used :(

That was pretty coolzorz.
