HL2 Shipment

I can't wait to unload the box of HL2 copies when they come into Best Buy. I work inventory there. I think I will build a card house out of them all and laugh at all the people outside waiting to get theirs when it's released. YES!

does it go into effect at like 12:01AM on the day of release?
would love that if it happens...stay up all night,waiting..get decryption key or however it will happen...start playing....drool!!

it was actually fun waiting at the store till midnight for games (sad i know lol). Damn store ppl would sit there, with the games in their hands, behind the doors, teasing us lol.

Depends on when the store opens, They might be nice and open at midnight for the big release. But we will see.

Damn, maybe I shouldn't have gotten steam....now I don't get a piece of cardboard with gordons face on it.

Oh well I'll be playing hl2 faster than any retail guy will.

Let's just hope that it's on a Friday or Saturday. Although, the 23rd is a Tuesday. Maybe we'll get a couple days head start.

Does anyone know if HL2 is going to be availiable on the ship date or the street date? Because if they delay the steam release until the street date, obviously some stores will have received theirs already, and a few stores will already be selling theirs. So steam subscribers might not end up being the first people to play.

Surely if HL2 has to be auth'd through steam in order to play it then even if a store sells early the only thing that will happen is that they'll go live at the same time as steamed copies?

i wonder if hl2 will be being sold rampant at my best buy ... cause when doom 3 came out ... they had like ... an insane amount of copies ... and when the sims 2 came out they had this HUGE freaking box of them ... so i dont think getting hl2 will be a problem for me ... and if someone gets the last copy before me ... then well , i will take it from him using physical force ...

Try 24 hours. In my neck of the woods, shipments for games released on Tuesday don't show up at my local brick-and-mortar until Wednesday. Steam it is for me.

You get the collector's edition box but NOT the cds.

No, I doubt I will be stealing any, but if things look scarce i might hide a couple behind Diablo or something lol.
