HL2 Short Movie: City 17

Ok thnx, the poeple on the other board seem exited, I'm downloading now. Gonna watch it soon and give an opinion.

Ya, im Dling to too. It has like 5min left...

Edit: its donw, but I think it needs DivX to run to Im DLing that now...

Wow... the movie was pretty cool. The place it was filmed looks VERY much like City17. I'd recommend watching this now if you havent already...

Yeah it is really cool, I'm impressed. Drags, but still quite cool.
The resemblance to City 17 is crazy
Anyone know where it was filmed?

That was really good. I really liked how it was done, and the way HL2 things seemed to just fit right in.
I think that's the 1st HL2 video I'm going to keep saved to my HD.

it wont let me download it :(

apparently, im already downloading a file off there, when im not.

Downloading... looks interesting.

that was actually pretty good...

the acting could have been better...and the scanner is too small but whatever...still pretty well made.

It's pretty good, and the resemblance to City 17 is striking.

Love it! Espasically when those Striders come.
Crowbar ain't gonna give you any hope against a Strider! :p

What I found interesting, was how he was the only one in the whole thing. How did they get all the people off the streets in a place like that?

Edit: Nvme, its all on page 2 ;)

shooting early in the morning...

Early morning, perhaps?

Plus, that was a very run-down and apparently abandoned area (notice all the graffiti everywhere, even on the streets? Graf takes time to paint, so there must not be many people around there).

I liked seeing the graffiti almost as much as the film itself :)

the strider was pretty kickass though.

Ya, if you look on page 2, it tells all about it ;)

And some of that graffiti looked like it came strait from HL2. That was an amazingly good spot to film.

WOW, thats awsome, how did you get the models appear so real? What program did you use?

Also, it looks like you filmed that in Sweden? Is that so?

I wonder if it's possible to take the Half-Life 2 models and put them in a movie using Final Cut Pro... because I have pretty much unlimited access to FCP at my high school, and that would make my next project a LOT better.

It's in the thread. I did not make the movie.............

I imagine you could splice it in. However, I have exactly no experience with FCP and have never seen it in use before.

Tutorials should be all across the intarnets.

Ya, its all on the 2nd page guys. If your registered there, ask him where it was made...

Wow, that's really cool. It makes me wanna play HL 2 again even more, but my comp is ****ed up so I'll have to wait untill it's fixed =(

has anyone got any mirrors? it keeps saying my IP is already downloading files when its not.

Wow, that was really, really good!

I assume they imported the HL2 models into a 3D modeling program and rendered it there onto the scenes?

It's awesome. The only thing that lets it down at all is the shiny, not-broken-down cars in the streets

That was wicked. Great job and the ending was pretty good. Two thumbs up.

ahhh i cant watch it. it says i have to be a premium member or something? i'm pissed. is there any other links to it?

Did you click the free link? You're not supposed to click the premium one.

I'd have to say that other than the nice cars on the road, damn fine piece of work!!

It was ok. Would have been better if it was shot all in first-person and they somehow spliced some things from the game into the real-life footage. The best part was the ending.
