hl2 soundtrack -- where is it?

hey all, I'm digging around my hard drive for the half life 2 soundtrack files and I can't find them anywhere -- can someone tell me where to find them? are they in a weird compressed file or something?

On a CD that comes with the gold edition and maybe the collectors edition.

official soundtrack came with Gold version of HL2 from steam.

otherwise, get GCFScape, look in source sounds.gcf in the Steam/SteamApps folder somewhere, and it's in there too (under Music or Soundtrack or something equally similar).

If it's the music you're after, do exaclty as Ennui has already said. The music files are in the Source Sounds.gcf file, under music.

If you want other sounds, for instance, gun sounds, they are also in the Source Sounds.gcf file - just in different folders.
