Hl2 Surprise?

I'm at work and couldn't stay up last night till 3am to unlock the game and play it. So I'll have to wait another 6 hours to play. Does anyone know if there was a so called surprise that Valve promised? If so, what is it?

I'll try my best, only been playing for about 2 hrs....

2 surprises I can think of.

1. This game actually lives up to the inordinate amount of hype surrounding it.

2. HL Source unlocked with HL2 for silver/gold package owners. - but it looks like a kinda basic port.

been preloading for many hours!

hehehehe i think it is playable *it is NOT in the "coming soon" section

it is in the main section!

i can play it i think

but i keep playing hl2

The surprise is that they upped the Steam bandwidth to accomodate the last minute pre-loaders.
