hl2 thoughts & far cry

well i gotta say. hl2 so far is very good. it kind of started off a bit slow, the airboat level was fun but so-so but now as ive worked my way to the nova prison level, this game is gettin awesome. i gotta say, it's a tough call between this and far cry to me. outdoors, i think far cry has the graphics down. on the coast in sandtraps in hl2, i mean it just didnt look that nice. sure it isnt a lush tropical island but still, the far cry graphics outdoors are nutty.and i am on high details, 10x7 resolution.

ravenholm was sick graphics wise. i love the far cry long range sniping and how u can just go anywhere on the map and while its linear in that the end result of each board is the same, i have beaten different parts of the outdoor island boards in different ways. hl2 is awesome cause of the physics, the gravity gun is a blast, and the lil puzzles are fun to figure out how to get thru parts, instead of the usual go here, press this, lift that instructions of most fps games. now back to finishing nova prospekt. w00t.

HL2 looked like it would have if you were actually there. That's what they were striving for. Not to make it look like they were bumpmapping the place up real good so they could place some mighty fine shader effects on there even though it doesn't make ANY sense AT ALL.

When you're done with HL2, this won't matter to you anyway. You'll be just like everyone else, it's the best game EVER. (The last "level" is the most awesome. It just keeps on getting better, don't worry.)

Overall HL2 is better game. But the vehicles were better in FarCry in my opinion. With that I mean the driving model. They are more fun to drive.

Far Cry is a HORRIBLE game. The NPC's say about 2 things to you and the graphics are no where NEAR Half-Life 2.
