hl2 vs. halo on sept 30th

Even though Halo should have come out a long time ago for pc, I think I'm still gonna get it. I hated it for Xbox; I gotta have my keyboard/mouse combo for fps's. The graphics didn't really blow me away, but they were pretty good nonetheless. Also, some of the levels like The Library, are just awesome for their pure nonstop action. Too bad most of Halo's level design is horribly repetitive, again think The Library. :/

I think it's safe to say that Half-Life 2 (with its modding community) and HALO 2 (using XBOX Live) are going to assume total control over the FPS genre. Microsoft is just taking over.

No, HL2 will prevent Microsoft's takeover. And even if it multiplayer sucks, there will be without a doubt CS2, DoD2, and anything else you can imagine. (Hoping for NS2 and TS2)

Halo was a pretty good game, but re-hashing it on the computer is pushing it... (correct me if I'm wrong, but) wasn't it released almost 2 years ago on the Xbox? There's no contest between HL2 and Halo.

man, i don't give a rats ass if hl2 is better than halo, i'm gonna get them both if i can. I've always been saying that i'd kick ass if i had a mouse, now i'd like to put my money where my mouth is. halo's graphics are still pretty damn good and i wouldn't mind playing it again at all. plus flying around in the banshee in blood gulch=fun

so yeah while the game could've been better and it still has certain issues (getting sniped out of a tank? wtf where they thinking!?) i still like it

Also, we have NO idea what Half-Life 2 MP is going to be like. We would all like to speculate that it will be completely new and innovative, but remember HL1 MP? it was LAME in my opinon. Hopefully they don't do this again.

Umm, I know several interviews as to where they have stated they severly toned the AI down to focus on the graphics / physics.
