HL2 Xbox forum?

Just a thought, as I suspect we will get a lot of xbox HL2 players looking for help, it could all get rather confusing in short order.

If the Xbox players need help it should be entirely based on gameplay elements, which could be answered by anyone in the normal HL2 forum.

If they've got technical problems then there's something wrong with their Xbox and I don't think that many people would be able to help!

For the most part thats true, but I spotted a thread about the xbox controls for example.

Don't encourage the console only players here damnit, the poison will seep throughout the forum and slowly kill our enthusiasm. Anything they need to know falls into the various forums anyway, as in 'getting stuck' 'cheats' etc...

There really isn't much in the way of technical support that can be given for homogenised package that is the console port of HL2. Also, as the gameplay is the same as the PC version, a separate forum for gameplay help would be a tad redundant.

A number of months ago, after HL2 for Xbox was announced, they changed the name of the HL2 section to "Half-Life 2 (PC)" so I assumed they were going to make a "Half-Life 2 (Xbox)" section too. Meh. Might as well remove the (PC) part if you aren't going to make an xbox forum.

No reason to. As Pi said, the only thing people with Xboxes are going to ask about are gameplay, which is identical to PC and doesn't require another forum.

Yeah, the X-box game is identical to the PC game afaik, so there isn't really any further discussion required. If there are additional features, I'm sure the forums in their current form can accomodate them as they arise.

Just remove the (PC) tag after "Half-Life 2" for the general discussion and problem is solved IMO.

One of the factors that separates HalfLife2.net from GameSpy is that they don't monopolize their forums with subsections for console versions of the same damn game. If someone is having trouble getting the game to run on their console, there's not much that can be done but to replace the console/disc. I doubt the console version will be any different from the PC versoin in terms of gameplay.
