Does Anyone Here RolePlay on HL2DM? By Roleplay i mean SERIOUS not "ZOM FG He Stole Mr Snuffles!" More... Towards the HL2 StoryLine

I almost got into RP-ing with GMod, but lost interest.
 
Wow. How about not. This is the most retardededest thing I've ever heard for DM. It's called DM for a reason.
 
You Create a Character , Give it a Background then Roleplay out its Life (Not The Boring Stuff though ;P) For Example you could have a CP Whos Kindly to Citizens or a Citizen which Hates Rebels

RPing is loads of fun if it's done decently. But admins more often than not simply camp in the prison and kill anyone on sight who even thinks of the thought of the idea of entering it, and randomly take people prisoner for no reason at all.

But if you can avoid all that, you've got yourself one great night :p

It's pretty fun for those who have imagination, and who want to have good fun with friends.
 
It can be fun, but one retard can ruin it all.
 
I used to do a lot of RP in Ultima Online. FPS games aren't really the best place to RP, unless you're running a private, passworded server.

And I've Found FPS Games are best to RP in..Weird
 
FPSes have the problems of a lack of customisability for appearances, the inability to "emote" actions properly (you can't sit down or anything), and the lack of a persistant world, I think. Still, if a mod team decided to iron these parts out, an FPS would be a good tool for RPing in.

I just played the server and god the admins are so ****ing anal! They ban and kick without warning and when they warn it's not even properly addressed. It's like living in actual Combine control.
 
I can't stand it when they type in that they're attacking instead of attacking. Just whack them!
 
We type so that people don't die every 5 seconds.. IF we whacked them you usually hear "// DM!" As i bet you would say
 
For Example in a RP I had a while ago , we spent over 3 Days on a Fight if we had just hit each other our characters would be dead and RP over within 1 Minute.

Get a life outside of the internet people. :upstare:
 
Must be incredibly bored....

The closest I've came is resorting to playing catch with another player in Overwatch... it was actually quite fun for 10 minutes! :P

Since when were you appointed the master of the Internets? People can play games however they damn well want, and if they fancy roleplaying, then that's their choice, and they have the right to enjoy it.

RP can be good fun, always love sneaking into the Combine base to take weapons, then see a man run in with a stunstick and stare at me. :D
 
I play as loads of different names, althought mostly "Mutley".

Unfortunatly, my gaming PC broke, so waiting for my brand spanker to arrive shortly. :D
 
I had this whole complicated storyline going on with a disloyal CP officer who refused to execute an innocent and I being a hothead brainwashed grunt executed shot him for insubordination. Then he came back and killed both cops about to disentegrate him on the chair and freed the prisoner.

as first i want to thank you dave for making this thread at a big HL² forum! Why you haven't announced this at our forum or did i oversaw it? Than i'm sorry for that.

You should shut up really fast, we don't want to get people like you, people without any brain... it needs some effort to get into the roleplay, just read the guidlines at our site or the forums.

Now let me introduce myself. I'm chan, the owner and main administrator of daspace.net and LGRP. It's true sometimes but very rarely that the rp is broken by someone but i think that's happening on all rp server. Even admins got bad days and acting like idiots, for that we got a complaints forum so i can talk to them. Only a good communication between humans can solve and make things better.

We, at LGRP, also got a couple of different rp types, just let me mention our properous and popular Star Wars RP. All the rp types are from the imagination of the community member.

Roleplay can be boring sometimes but only if player on without much imagination, not everyone is able to start a good rp. Some people need a little hint and the boring rp changes to a exciting rp in seconds.

Ok thats for now from me and i hope to see one or two of you at the server and having fun with nice guys ;)
 
Hello everyone.

I will introduce myself, I am Jon Fergie and an administrator at the LGRP server.

If you give role playing a chance you will soon find that you can get a very fun experience and meeting new people is much easier as people get to see what type of person you are and vice versa.

All you have to do is sign up to either the LGRP or Lambda sites and you will soon see the possibilites that the role playing community opens to your game play and imagination.

The LGRP server has a password that is up most of the time and there is nearly always an administrator on to keep things under control to make peoples experiences as fun as possible. I have to admit that I know little of the Lambda server but i will let them explain thier site. ;)

On both the LGRP and Lambda servers there are 'businesses' which you are able to become a part of. These 'businesses' have been created by the players themselves to make the role play experience more enjoyable for everyone.

I hope my words will persuade people to at least check out the sites even if they think that it is not for them.

Role playing - Imagination is key :)

Both servers are dedicated. I'm not sure which companies each server is with but there is no downtime (unless the server crashes::P but that is very rare)
 
As in, a client DLL file that gives extra commands to animate your character and express yourself better than the default "always holding gun" thing HL2 had. You can't even holster your weapons in HL2DM.

Sorry i was a little slow there. There is a MOD in the works that is posted at the bottom of the first page. The way we get round the fact that you are unable to holster a weapon is we class the gravity gun as 'no weapon' as its the least threatening out of the lot of them.
 
Hello, I am Lag Ninja, another server moderator for LGRP. The thing is, Roleplaying is much more than just people running around and doing meaniale tasks. There is usually alot of action in Role-Playing, and its more about making freinds and having fun than being seriuos. I mean, there are alot of serious RPers in there, includeing Chan and Fergie, but most people are just having fun. When someone stupid gets on an is like " ZOMG RP ISH TUPID! YOU PEPOLE AREZ TUPIS! LOELS!" that ruins the fun. So if you dont want to RP, then dont get on a server with an RP map on. ( and that is something that someone really said on the server..... Got banned. We dont tolreate that crap)
