Since when do expansions look a lot different graphically?

to be added to my pirate list for this year :D LOL!!11111

edit: I bought the original: 35 pounds

Since when do expansions look a lot different graphically?

Was expecting maybe different environments.
Not the same ole jungle crap, maybe fighting in a thriving metropolis?

Christ, it's the same story from a different perspective, how hard is this to understand? They're fleshing the game out a bit, what else would you expect from an expansion?

What? It's the same story, but told from Psycho's perspective. Everyone knows this. Why the hell would you think there should be a thriving metropolis? They're on a remote Island. The story hasn't suddenly changed. Psycho didn't head off to the nearest metropolis during the original game, so why would he now that you get to play as him? You (should) have known this already. That's as stupid as wondering why they didn't spice it up with a full scale Muppet battle.

Oh, well then.
I'm not following the story for Crysis at all, so yeah, I only ever played the demo.

Pardon me for randomly assuming it would take place in a different area and thus almost sparking my interest.

You guys know this was in the August PCGamer, right?
...
Right.
It's the stand-alone sequel to Crysis... they said it'll be both better graphically and spec wise... easier to play, but it'll also look good. Said possible that it might be out on the 360 as well. You play from Psycho's perspective from the first alien attack, to where you meet him on the Carrier, I think.

Doesn't make piracy excusable you son of a bitch!:flame:

My thoughts exactly. I really hate it when people say the game's going into my pirate list.

I really hope they can improve the storyline in this expansion, and actually add elements where you get to fight with more AI friendlies. Visually, this game looks as fantastic as ever, and I'm really looking foward to it.

Nah, but the developers lies about their previous games recommended specs and video's of graphics that were vastly superior to the finish game are enough not to trust anything they say this time around. Which means people will pirate to see if they are trying to bullshit people again, which I think is fair enough with Cryteks past record.

:D haha LAYF, I made you angry.

I bought CRYSIS, and I really liked it. And I will do the same for this, if and only if the final score is higher than 9 on every game review site.

The 2001 Monoliths'(or Monolithi) required to play the original just became outdated.

Since no one else is going to post this, I figured I'd do it..

"so maybe this time I want to play the game by throwing rats at people"
"You can throw rats at people?, that is amazing"
"Yes, we are very proud of it"
"This..er..is a very amazing gameplay feature"

:| If it's anything at all, the graphics and gunplay look as explosive and top notch as ever. For those reasons alone, I'm excited about this game.

I really hope they did indeed optimize the engine well. Doing would would definitely get CryTek a lot more respect in the gaming community. Also, I'm not sure if anyone else heard this in the interview video posted above, but he said that the gameplay they were showing right there in real-time wasn't even running at the maximum settings. I believe he said that the video options were only a bit "average". That's ridiculous. I didn't even really notice any big changes (though the video wasn't hi-def or anything), but that's still very nice. I'd also like for the AI to be improved, as he said it was. They weren't completely retarded, but sometimes it was pretty disappointing.

oh god it's become a console run-n-gun. Way to cave in, crytek. Didn't get a chance to hear if the psycho voice acting is the same guy as no speakers at the office, but did notice the explosions have been re-vamped and you get annoying LOOK, LOOK, HERE I AM boxes around stuff like grenades in case you are a) stupid, b) short sighted, c) easily confused wastes of spaces, d) short sighted easily confused wastes of spaces, e) confused with stupidly short sighted wastes of spaces steering the market

Not on delta difficulty you don't. You only get assists like that on pussy modes, and it's a bloody good idea too, because it's hard as hell to see nades land near you in dense undergrowth.

I think it'll be great looking at the new trailer, and the same guy does the voice so that'll be quite entertaining. I could nit pick and whine that most people still won't have the system requirements to push the engine into sechs mode, but it looks like a tonne of fun imo.

Am I being to harsh on this game when I say it looks exactly like crysis but with a few new guns and enemies and maps?

That's what I think and i'm really not fussed about it.
