I was just reading through a hl2 interview with Gabe Newell and found this question a bit dodge:

Hoaxer: Weird question, but...will the G-Man be invulnerable again? :D
Gabe Newell: Do not shoot the G-Man. Bad bad idea.

He says its a bad bad idea. Does this mean that he will pull out 17 mini guns and blow u away. Or maybe he is an alien him self :O or no wait. maybe he wants to take u to the gaybar :O (might be pritty hard if he is shot) but anyway...its kinda dodge how he says its a bad bad idea. Maybe there is more to the G-Man than meets the eye. What do u think?

All i know is that as soon as I see the G-Man in hl2 I am gunna blow him away just to see what this big BAD BAD! idea is LOL
 
im gonna kill him after i played out the whole game :)

you couldn't actually shoot him in the original game anyway...he was always behind bullet proof glass or in another rail car ... or just walking out of the room as you enter.....
 
You get all that from a little comment on not shooting him? :D

Anyway, of course its a bad idea. You need G-man. He's got your paycheck.
 
ye but obviasly u actually get to talk to him person to person now because he is your manager. Blow him away tbh, maybe u will get warped into the future and have to fight aliens :O
 
Bad idea simply because u gonna die one way or another if u try to\kill him.
Anyways what for god created QuickSave/QuickLoad button? :naughty:
 
he's obviously able to handle himself, he was trailing you throughout black mesa, even the really hazardous places. He probably has some sort of shield or something nuts.

I dont think there is anything weird about....why would you wonna kill Alex? I mean its the same, since we still dont know exactly what role the G-man plays in HL2...so dont freak out :p

not all the times he was behind bullet proof glass.. there were some times were he passed bridges and stuff completely uncovered and the real bulletproof thing was HIM!! it even made the sound of bullets hitting proof glass..

there is quote feature tark. it would be cool if you killed the gman and the game split off into 2 plots, one where the gman is dead, another where he isnt, but thats not likley.
 
Maybe if you kill him early on, you won't be able to finish so you will have to to it all over agian!:eek:
 
maybe he does a NEO and stops all bullets and fires them back at you...
 
They proberly won't give you a change to shoot him. If they do, he'll probely go Neo on you and jsut dodge your puny 5.56mm ammunition

well, you're obviously going to be incapacitated if you try to kill g-man
stasis like shepard, or sent to some dangerous location.

He's not going to sprout alien features and kill you, that would spoil the plot for later in the story. I think valve would have counted on us trying to kill him, then loading the game before he was attacked.

If you die, you WILL load again, but you might not be at the point in the plot where you find out about what he is. So he'll get rid of you in some other way.

Or he'll laugh
 
If you kill G-man you'll probably get killed yourself.
 
hmmmm thats a point. Why is he called the G-Man. Seriously now maybe he has some super powers. Or maybe in the plot of hl2 u actuallt find out that he is some sort of alien or some other really dodge human. I mean nothing is impossible.

i've just had a though on the Gman, may be he is an older Gordon Freeman who has teleported back through time, then if you kill him then you kill yourself in some kind of trans-time warpy thingy....
 
lmfao bnet it took u ages to come up with that nick. Its a good possiblity though. Hmmmm what else could it be ?
 
Good ol' G-man has a knack for being in places where guns are not.
I don't think that anything bad will happen if you shoot him, because he won't let you shoot him.
At the end of HL and OpFor he took your guns away effortlessly, via teleportation.
 
The Gman in Half-Life was made out of metal. Not glass, steam, wood, etc, etc. If you used noclip to get to places no Gordon should be then give him a few thwacks with the Crowbar you'll see for yourself.

Going from what Gabe said, I imagine you'll either not be able to get to the Gman like before, or he's so important to the game that if he's killed, even injured to a certain degree the game will come to an abrupt end. Something like when you kill a crew member in Elite Force or Elite Force2.
