I just bought a radeon 9600 for 150$
I installed it today and i was changing display settings when i noiticed it said that my display was a 9600 pro!!!
So the question is did i really get a 9600 pro or is it lying to me???

sadly im starting to think it is goin get delayed, i mean wtf? 2 weeks to go, and all we have is a 25min vid. And the 15 is the lastest they can annouce it gold and ship it for stores in time for the 30th

why do you assume "the 15 is the lastest they can annouce it gold and ship it for stores in time for the 30th" is that some kind of new rule? maybe there wont be an official announcement of it going gold, who knows.

Well, it usually takes a couple of weeks to press enough copies to distribute, so it seems to be a fair assumption. If it's not gold by next Friday, I'll be worried. I'm sure they'll announce gold, everbody else does.

1-As far as I know ATI video cards do this, i.e. 9700 being called a 9700 pro, etc. The only difference between them is clock speed, so it's ok.
2-He said 256-bit (I dunno why, but he did). All 9800's have a 256-bit memory bus...MB does not equal Bit.
3-Retail stores still sell the 9600 for more, so it's not that he got ripped off, but rather that next time he needs to buy online.

As I said, ATI's drivers do that, as the only difference between pro and non pro is clock speeds.
