If you gave him the right relics, Umaro tore through most enemies. The other guy you're thinking of is Mog, and he was also my least favorite character.

I gave Sabin Genji Glove (equipped a couple of the best weapons he could use, Dragon glove or something if I remember correctly) and Offering - 8 attacks doing 9999 each. If one guy died after say 2 attacks, Sabin would start with the other 6 on the next guy. It was awesome.

No..Mog was cool as hell. He took almost no damage at the end for me. I'm thinking of is Gau (I googled FF6 and looked him up). I wasn't a fan of him.

I totally forgot that Yuna was half Al Bhed. It's been a while since I played.

One thing that pissed me off about FF8 was how they did limit breaks. If you were at low health...there was just a probability that you would do your limit...so all you had to do was press triangle to move to the next character...and it would roll again to see if you can do the limit. So all you have to do is keep a guy at yellow life...and if he dies..just use life on him.

I want a proper Chrono trigger sequel in 3D with Chrono. ;(

Chrono cross wasn't what I wanted.

Or use Aura magic. :)

You have to admit though, constantly having to draw spells out of enemies just to keep your characters stats all the way up was the most tedious and lamest stats system ever.

I didn't mind this, all you need is a bit of patience. I liked how versatile the system actually was. Characters weren't already in pre-defined battle roles like all the other FF games, you could turn Squall into a black mage with relative ease, or Selphie into your strongest fighter. In the other FF games, this wasn't as easy a thing to accomplish.

FF games are amazing, Im playing ff9 at the moment and I must say its the best ff game ive played, it even beats 7 in my opinion. Havent completed it yet.
FF7 sequel would be good but ive had bad experiences with ff sequels ie ffx-2 :x

Although I still could never really get into 8, people that say 8 is the worst final fantasy have obviously never played FF: mystic quest.

I can't wait. I'm really looking forward to it, never played one before.

I thought you meant Mog because you said he learned new abilities by treveling to different lands. Gau was kick ass. He had so much veriety with his attacks. Have him use the Ranger rage and he'll start casting wind slash on all the enemies, which on higher levels will deal 9999 damage to them. I miss the relics.. they were my favorite type of secondary equipment from any game.

Then I suggest you play a few of them. I suggest FF7 if you plan to play the sequel or seeing the dvd that will be coming out eventually. I liked 6-10...but some more than others. Listed below is ranked out of these games.

1. FFVII
2. FFVI
3. FFIX
4. FFX
5. FFXIII

I hope they keey the original scores. Hopefully an updated version will have some proper orchestrated music instead of the then-good XG midis.

Hmm well ive heard that ffvi sucks. FFX is poor and is beaten by ffVIII

Whoever told you FFVI sucks is a bit braindead. Some consider it the best in the series. :D

Really, if you want to get into FF, the best is 7. That's what got a lot of people interested in the series, so I recommend that first. I wouldn't try FF8, it's a bit daunting for someone new to FF. X isn't really worth your time unless you have a lot of patience, because you spend a long time walking about, the battles are long, the cut scenes are long, and some of the voice acting is a bit dire.

Is it me, or is FF better without voice acting? I prefer to read it rather than have some half-arsed voice actor spewing the lines in a whiney voice.

i like FF7 the best (cba to use roman numerals ;) ) and i like 9 second. i really wanna play 8 again, as i have only ever completed it twice ( :O ) and its just as good ats the others. 10 was good while it lasted but is in no way a classic. same will probally apply to 12. 11 doesnt count... ;)

anyway, im confused with all the DVD, PSP prequels and playstation games... arrgh!! anything to do with 7 is good though. anything to do with 42 is much better though ;)
