I didn't jump the gun on anything. I was just wondering... wondering.

There are a LOT of people out there thinking these recent disasters are a "sign of the times", and are all linked as a result. Ignoring the fact that earthquakes and other natural disasters happen... and have happened since the dawn of time. Though a sinkhole of this type is primarily a man made thing. There are natural ones however.
