Home theater system. Need help. Mainly sound system.

OK so iv talked to someone about speaker placement and i think I'm good to go. Sorry i haven't had a chance to take pictures but if anything i should have them by Thursday.

I was just about to go and buy everything when i ran into a situation. I'm just going to copy paste what i typed in the other forum because I'm in a rush.

"OK guys iv been made a offer i know i was going for the Denon AVR 2807 but what do you think of this. (AVR4306 http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7366673&st=7366673&type=product&id=1151657261677) I can get it for the same price i was paying for 2807. Why did this model get discontinued? Something wrong with it. Do you think i should still get the 2807 or should i get the 4306?"

"Hummm, so should i wait for the AVR4308 or go with the AVR4306 or just go with the new but lower end AVR2807 This is just driving me crazy. I really wanted to get this before June but its looking unlikely now.

I heard the Denon AVR4306 had firmware problems and was a bitch to setup? I heard some of the **** doesn't work etc. Any info on that?

I also don't think i need any up converting features."

Good choices. Any speakers will do as long as you have a good subwoofer along with them to handle the lower frequencies. But the most important part is the placement of the speakers, especially the subwoofer.

Once again, it's really doesn't matter on speaker size. If you have a subwoofer, you don't really need huge speakers to get great sound, especially with that kind of reciever.

Speaker cables? Need reply by tmr 1pm east.

I have everything in place and ready to be hooked up. My friend is coming over tmr and helping me set everything up. So i really need a reply by tmr 1pm east. Ok here we go.

Wondering what speaker wire i should get.

These are my choices and why is one wire more expensive then the other?

(XPMS-50) http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...+wire&lp=7&type=product&cp=2&id=1051384446703

The speakers will not be connected via in wall.

These are the speakers i have:

Another question i have is how will i hook up the 3 subs i have built into those speakers?

Do i need 2 Y-cables? http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...cable&lp=1&type=product&cp=1&id=1158316752168

What Sub cables should i get? http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...##0##8&list=n&usc=All+Categories&nrp=15&iht=n

These are the cables i already have:

(M1000 DFO-8)http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7858339&st=m+series&type=product&id=1156607397755

Is there a point in getting cables that expensive, be honest i didn't pay retail price for those.

Oh i btw i should have pictures once everything is done!

First off, the more expensive speaker wire is the more lossless it is (the signal doesn't degrade as much). If you're speakers are a far from your reciever, you might have to buy a little more expensive speaker wire, but most of the time, you don't really need to by speaker wire that's more than 100 dollars. My speaker wire cost me 30 dollars.

What do you mean by hook up the subs built in to the speakers??? If your talking about the speakers you already have, you don't need to hook up the sub part of the speaker if the sub is already part of the main speaker. I was talking about a subwoofer which looks like this:

http://www.futureshop.ca/multimedia/products/large/10053785.jpg

If you want bass to be undistorted and much cleaner, that is what you need.

On the types of cables, you really have to look at distance from your reciever to the speaker. If its a long distance you may have to compensate by purchasing expensive cables that don't have a lot of loss. On the other hand if it's not to far away, you don't need to spend so much on cables.

A long distance would be considered to be 15 feet or above.

A short distance should be anything below 12 feet.

Nice system man. And ignore people like Glirk, he'll come in here complain about how unfair it is that you have the money for shit like this yet in the politics board he will talk about how evil socialism is.

I know you already got the speakers but I'm a huge fan of infinitys. I have the beta series hooked up to a denon receiver in the living room and I haven't had any issues with them and the sounds is absolutely awesome.

As far as cables go, I am so against monster cables you don't really want to get me started on it. For anolog signals, as in the case of speaker cables, if you can afford monster go for it. I will tell you right now you probably won't be able to tell the difference but I really don't want to get into an argument over this right now. But any digital signals (HDMI or Optical) monster is a huge waste of money in my humble opinion.

The subwoofers that are built into your 2 front speakers should still have a serperate input for subwoofers. Make sure you hook those up to your receiver's subwoofer outputs.

Where have I complained about how unfair it is that he has money? I tried to help him out and he lashed at me for that. I was nice until he started things. I was far from the only person to go after him as well, so why single me out? I at least had a reason.

Next you bring up my posts about socialism? I don't ever remember making posts about socialism or any form of government. Mind trying to back your claims up instead of pointless harassment?

Anyway, i have some pictures, its work in progress right now.

This is what it took for me to build what you are about to see.

These are the speakers i have:

These are the wires. (btw i agree on buying monster cables but i got them for a lot cheaper then retail price)
