Hey all, just finished putting together a teaser trailer for my next movie, and was wondering if anyone could take a look at it and tell me what you thought about it. i.e. something you'd be interested in seeing when done, etc?

Slasher and Friends X Trailer

Please remember, this is a comedy and meant to be taken light-heartedly.

Also remember, this is not the actual movie, just a teaser using scenes form past movies (well, most) to drum up interest.

Honest opinions?

well right now its just a guy in a mask running around in the dark pushing and cutting kids :) But the voice acting sounded pretty good! I dont think you should film in nightvision..it will be intresting to see the final film. I like home made movies :D

Honestly...it looks pretty goofy, dude. I did like the voice-over, though...that made me giggle.

Well, lemme explain a bit. All the nightvision/snow scenes were from the older Slasher movies. Those had no plot, and just involved a guy running around, as you said, cutting kids. Those movies were basically just an inside joke between me and my friends.

However, the new movie we want to open up to wider audience, so it actually has a plot, which is what that voiceover was from. The new stuff is all filmed regularly without annoying nightvision, and should be quite entertaining if we do it right.

Oh, hush. My mom's a cop and I thought it was funny. You know what that means? It means you ought to lighten up! Have a beer!

If you want to make a real movie, you need some people who can act seriously and naturally. Voice acting was good except for the second utterance of "so many children"; forced, not felt. Stick to anger instead of grief (easier). Director needs to be a bit more focused and rythmic (when the jogging guy got jumped, there needed to be more emphasis on the impact. actions and information should hit fast and hard to be more suprising/shocking). Director should also work on dramatic perspectives. Both of these help overcome low production values (think kung fu flicks and "The Blair Witch"). Editing is actually quite good. :p

Heed my advice, and you might just make something that a lot of people want to see. You do have some tallent to work with.

Thanks for the inevitable sleepless nights.

Anyways, yeah, all those videos of people getting jumped are all scenes from the movies we made before with this character, which was just us fooling around. Now that we want to make an actual movie about this, the production values will be much higher I assure you. And thanks for the tips.
