Hotel Rwanda

We were thinking of going to see this movie this weekend.
Out of 10 how would you rate it ?

9/10 = The movie raises alot of questions about the crisis in Rwanda with the Tutsi and Hutu people. How they had to survive in a european hotel without any support from the UN peacekeepers. Its just one of those great stories of humanity struggling to survive a genocide.

yeah i heard it was great, need to see it,its a 12 rated film too as the director wanted to allow children to see it which is good,it supposedly is very scary too not that it shows the killing but suggests what is going to happen etc, like the machetes falling out of the back of the truck etc, shame we are allowing another genocide take place in darfur while the un bundle around with bureacrats

9.2/10

Awesome movie. I suggest you all to watch it.

I just saw it for the second time.

9/10 - It's really awesome

You know, when they made it, many of the actors actually lived through the genocide and suffred psychological trauma after taking part in the film. The BBC were heavilly criticised for it.

Another movie that puts across the image of that part of Africa extremely well:

Blood Diamond

If you can look past DeCaprio's incredibly shite SA accent...

If you like Hotel Rwanda then definately check out Shooting Dogs. Based on the same atrocity and also based on actual events. Both very good movies.

I enjoyed Blood Diamond, but found it strayed a few times into action movie territory. While not necessarily a bad thing, this did detract somewhat from the authenticity (for me, anyways).
