Ehh, I've never understood people who take this stance. Its essentially like saying that statues and artwork like paintings and stuff cannot contain the attractive qualities of women and men that we find appealing in the real flesh. A statue modelled after a beautiful person, completely in every detail cannot be considered beautiful or sexy like the real thing? If not... why do we create them?

Can a portrait or painting not be considered lovely or a depiction of our desire after the real thing even if it may not be an exact replica? If so... why do we create them?

Video game characters are exactly the same thing. A form of art for our fondness of the human body. The desire and appeal of the art is not itself a lust for the medium on which it is created, but rather what it sybmolizes in our minds.
