How cheap is GTA4 now?

Well, I went to India recently, and I bought the full original version of 499 rupees, and that was in an official games store. That's about 10 US Dollars. Is GTA 4 suppose to be this cheap yet, because I'm not aware of it's prices in other countries or steam

Are you sure it's original?

OK, you said it's from an official games store, so it probably is original. That's dirt cheap.

It's still pretty much full price here in the UK for the PC version. I think it will be a while yet before it hits the cheap seats in terms of pricing.

In countries where piracy is particularly high, its common for software and games to be a fraction of the price available in the west. Better to make $10 out of GTAIV, than lose out to the pirate copies sold for $5 up the street. $40/50 and you give customers no choice, that is silly money in India.

I can't remember how much Windows Vista is available for in East / South-East Asia, but it was impressively low.

Guess how much the Orange Box was? 499 as well. Stalker (first game) and F.E.A.R (first game), mother****ing 299 Rupees. However, alot of other titles, like Crysis, F.E.A.R PO, etc. cost about 999 rupees. Still, GTA 4, for a new game, was really dirt cheap.

I remember hearing Rockstar say they were gong to sell GTA4 dead cheap in places like India at launch. The reason like Glenn said is to combat piracy. Everywhere else it's still full price.

GTA 4 for PC - Not Delayed In India

I feel like bit of a yoyo here chopping and changing. A few days ago we reported that due to the Mumbai tragedy GTA4 for the PC was going to be delayed in India.

Well it looks like it won't be delayed now which is very good news for our Indian GTA fans but bad news for me because adamcs is going to tell me off.

The website that initally reported the delay is now saying :-

"it looks like you really wouldn’t have to wait after all if you were planning to drive Mr. Bellic around town on your monster PC. So yes, the game is coming out on December 3rd, as originally planned and yes, it will be available at the previously mentioned low, low price of INR 499, so there’s really no excuse not to buy one copy for playing and one NRFB copy for a keepsake, like someone I know is planning to do."

The site also states again that the game will be so for the incredibly low price of INR 499 (around 10 bucks). So good news all around really, many thanks to GTAforums member micheal687 for finding this story.

For 500 rupees, you could buy a "Giant's wallet" so you can carry 1000 rupees.

GTAIV is now priced at $19.99 in Gamestop. I rebought it today so I could play The Ballad of Gay Tony. Don't plan on selling it this time. Needed the money for new releases last time I had it.
